b. 1. Heaven is a boring place - Revelation 22:1-5
c. 2. Everyone goes to Heaven automatically - John 14:6
d. Jesus specifically states the majority of people do not make it to
e. 3. Heaven is a cloudy place - Revelation 21:15-21
f. 4. We become angels in Heaven - Hebrews 1:14
g. 5. Life in Heaven is the same as on earth - Revelation 20
h. 6. We will forget earthly life in Heaven - Luke 16:19-31
i. 7. We will have no personal identity in Heaven - Jeremiah 1:51
Corinthians 15:42-44
II. Why we must talk about heaven
a. Heaven is real - John 14:1-6
b. The word heaven shows up in the New Testament 276 times, largely
spoken and taught on by Jesus.
c. Heaven is God’s dwelling
d. Jesus calls it “My Father’s house”
e. “A lot of people live in my Father’s house...”
f. We experience assurance...heaven is secure for those in Christ.
g. 6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one
comes to the Father except through me.”
h. John 3:16, Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23
i. Life as we know it is a fallen, incomplete shadow of what God has in store for us.
j. Heaven represents more than a nebulous eternal destination.
k. Heaven is the living eternal provision of an all knowing, all powerful, all compassionate Heavenly Father.
